 Holy Trinity CE Primary School

July2016

In accordance with the Government’s requirement for all governing bodies, the 3 core strategic functions of the Holy Trinity C of E Primary School Governing Body are:1.     Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;2.     Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;3.     Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
Governance arrangements The Governing Body holds regular Full Governing Body meetings at least once each term ( twice during the Autumn Term)In addition the FGB delegates responsibilities to two committees which meet termly. The Curriculum and Pupil Related Matters (CP&R) meets to explore issues around the curriculum such as policies, use of pupil premium and sports funding along with pupil related matters such as attendance, SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) and behaviour. The Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee (F,P&P)meets to review the financial performance of the school, ensure financial controls are in place and effective, review HR matters and the monitor issues on the school buildings. In addition the governors meet through a variety of other committees on an ‘as and when’ needed basis including the Pay, Appeals and Complaints Review Committees.Governors also make regular monitoring visits to school, usually termly, looking at aspects of school improvement identified within the School Development Plan.
