Spring Term in Class 5

This term our topic is Scavengers to Settlers which is about Prehistoric Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.

We used our imaginations to create travel blogs for a visit to Stonehenge. We had to find out all about it after going on a virtual tour of this special World Heritage site. We think our blogs look very professional!

We got to look at a variety of artefacts during our Stone Age afternoon including: a replica Stone Age house, flint tools, flour grinding, dressing up in Stone Age clothes and Stone Age drilling. It was great fun!

We went to the Royal Hospital School to take part in 'Sing Up Suffolk'. This was a brilliant day led by the renowned conductor and singer, Dominic Ellis-Peckham. We performed a medley of different songs including 'Freedom' by George Michael. We sounded amazing!

We also took part in anti-bullying activities, creating leaflets to help support those affected by bullying.

This half-term we've been continuing with our chocolate topic: finding out about Fair trade, what life was like for the Mayans and Aztecs and actually making our own chocolate!

Welcome to Autumn Term in Class 5!

This term we are learning about one of our favourite things in the world - chocolate! Not only have we enjoyed tasting it but we have learnt where it grows, how it is harvested and how it started off as a spicy drink created by the Aztecs and Mayans. After half-term, we will be designing our own chocolate bars, making and packaging them before finally getting to eat them. We can't wait!
